Thanks to this forum and it's generous members, I was able to follow the steps to authorize a trial recreational flight across the street from a municipal airport.
Still consider myself a beginner, but this was a good step, as it will allow me to practice at a site I am familiar with.
The MA is still in beginner mode, and I'm not flying more than 50' up and well within 200' of me....still gets me nervous! Wonder how long that will take to settle down?
Just to generate some discussion, the site across from the airport is a local gun range! I tried a short video while the guys were shooting some trap this morning & it came out OK given my current level of training. Yes, they blamed me for distracting them with the noise and they did ask if they could shoot at it; I'll have to practice evasive actions.
Next, I'll figure out how to share the files.
Without calling out specific members, thanks to those that have taken the time to write out a page of steps to complete this process for the newbies.
