So I have now flown my mavic air 3 or 4 times and I'm getting the hang of it. These things, drones in general, are just amazing! I went and ordered my air first week of release and played with a hubsan h501s for a day or two before returning it as the firmware was very hard to manage, and I'm no beginner as I've been modding android and computers for quite a while. It was very fun to fly the hubsan the first few times and I learned some good lessons from it, like don't fly in the trees on your first flight or two! Both times I hit a tree as I lost orientation and second time broke a prop. After sending it back I must have watched at least ten drone videos a day for the week I waited for my new shiny toy. I finally tried sport mode today and when it dips like it does it is a rush! I am looking forward to flying drones for the rest of my life now, I'm hooked!

Thank you to all who have taken the time to post videos and comments in forums for a rookie like me to learn from, I am truly grateful!

So I want to thank you for the warm welcome but I come bearing bad news. I killed me mavic air today being the rookie I am. I was panning around a tree sideways and wasn't watching the drone close enough and it went into some branches. It almost came to rest then decided to tumble down and broke an arm almost clean off. Just wires hold it on now. Good news is I have the refresh care plan so it's boxed up and will be shipped out tomorrow. I am going to be even more careful now and maybe some time without wings will teach me a lesson.
