I took single blades off a Mini 2 and a Mavic Mini to photograph the screws. I have just refitted them, something I normally sweat buckets doing. With a slight variation I just tried something that I normally do when refitting self tapping screws.
Put the screw in the blade then hold the blade by the hub, place the end of the screw in the mouth of the screw hole and. LIGHTLY pressing it home (NOTE LIGHTLY), BACK the screw OUT i.e. turn it as if UNscrewing it. Pay attention to what your fingers feel and it is likely you will feel the screw drop into the female thread. Once that happens turn the screw the correct way and voila.
It's the "back the screw out until you feel it drop into the existing thread" bit that is important.
Both screws went in perfectly at their first attempts!
