Hello all and glad to be here,
Everything went perfect on my first flights today until mid-flight on one go round, my DJIgo4 app on my Ipad4 mini shut off and the Ipad went to its home screen... without panicking I simply hit the App Icon again and the whole thing popped back up with almost no delay.. Crises averted... I do understand I can fly without the screen and would of done so being I could still see the Drone, but glad at this skill level the app came back.
Other than that, the whole thing was much easier than I had expected. The Mavic Pro 2 drone flew great ... I even dialed in the camera and video nicely for some shots and was happy with the results. The 4K is a bit of a pain in the *** to work with so far, so I converted to 1080P just for todays activities.. I'll probably shoot at that for a while until my skills are up to par..and I shoot some images of meaning.
Took off on my own and always landed it myself... I did use P mode most of the time.. and a little T mode the rest.. Probably wont use return to home button unless I need to, at least thats my goal.
I need all the practice with the unit I can get. It was pretty easy.. but I have a ton to learn, get used to, practice and just plain work on muscle memory.
I look forward to referencing this site for advice, tips, learning, problems and firmware update issues.
Thanks..

I had the same Ipad mini issue with the screen freezing then returning to ipad home scree.Seems to be when it's cold-below 40 F.went trough the list of things to check and did them.Seems to be better but still turns off/locks some. The link Install DJI GO on an Apple Tablet or Phone (Step-by-Step Guide) - Phantom Help

Welcome to this treasure trove of information and opinions, it is a great place to learn the 'in and out' of these drones.
I look forward to hearing of your adventures in the future, and if your looking for tools or resources for new pilots check out this drone safety campaign, safeskiescampaign.com
BTW, try to put your iPad mini in airplane mode while flying on GPS, it may help solve your problem ... it did on my Note 8.

Thank you for the link... I had about 20 apps running at the same time... This was all excellent advice... Really appreciate it...Thank you O.T.B
