Last Sunday I picked up my bird to take some footage while wakeboarding with friends

Sadly it was able to take off, move up and down and laterally but it completely refused to go forward or backward.

After some tests it turns out that when obstacles avoidance is disabled, directly or in sport mode, the drone can fly with no issue, when it is enabled sometimes it won't go forward, or it can can go forward very slowly or it go forward and at the same time time it climbs up and no proximity sound or red sign is emitted. Almost the same for backward.

IMU and remote control have been recalibrated

Any clue out there ?

Happy new year!

Have a look at the obstacle avoidance setting, If it's set to stop when an obstacle is encountered, then the drone is doing as told when it senses nearby objects during the landing.

Was the sun low in the sky? I have heard that this can cause some issues with obstacle avoidance, although I’ve never experienced it. However, that would still not explain the problem going backwards. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unless the sun was facing the back of the drone. Or maybe shadows cane into play.

The issue occurs when sunlight strikes the camera lens directly and there's lens flare. I've seen it most often in the early or late hours of the day when the sun is low. I've had only on instance where the drone stopped, but see the arced on-screen proximity warnings more often. It's never been a significant problem.

Thanks all for replying ... my issue is not related to the sun position, it happens even in the dark of the night

So, I recalibrated the sensors, cleaned them (even if they didn't need it) and still it's not good.

Now it behaves differently, does not detect front obstacles but sometimes refuses to climb vertically beacause of an invisible obstacle

I think I need to contact the assistance 🤬
