A couple of quick questions involving the Flight Records on the Smart Controller.

1. Can I assume that after I archive off to my desktop the DAT and TXT files, I can safely delete them from the controller?

2. Are there any issues with clearing the CACHE_IMAGE files out of their folder?

3. What do the six-digit numbers at the end of the FlightRecord mean?

74019

4. The same question regarding the last six-digits of the DAT file. Why are there some duplicates?

5. And finally, why do I generate more DAT files than TXT files?

Sorry, I know that was more than a couple of quick questions :)

That happens automatically - you don't need to do that.

3. What do the six-digit numbers at the end of the FlightRecord mean?

That's the time of the flight.

4. The same question regarding the last six-digits of the DAT file. Why are there some duplicates?

They are different records - it's not clear to me why they sometimes have the same number.

5. And finally, why do I generate more DAT files than TXT files?

Because a DAT file is created every time the aircraft is powered up and connected to the controller, whereas a txt log is only created on motor start.

Thank you for the quick answers!
I didn't even get time to finish my cup of coffee...

One follow-up question. How do I decipher the six-digit time at the end of the FlightRecord (ex. 00-50-53)?

One follow-up question. How do I decipher the six-digit time at the end of the FlightRecord (ex. 00-50-53)?

That's simply 00:50:53 local time - i.e. 50 minutes and 53 seconds past midnight.

Ah yes, if I had looked at a correct file instead of one of the bogus date/time files, I would have seen that. I had a lot of bogus files reading 00-xx-xx and I haven't flown at night.

Makes a lot more sense now, thanks for your help Thumbswayup

The duplicate .DATs are because the real .DAT gets split sometimes. In your example the real .DAT would be a concatenation of 13-01-18-12-50-18_FLY098.DAT and 13-01-18-12-50-31_FLY098.DAT.

I'm not sure why the .DATs show a creation time of 2013-01-18. This could be caused by the device running the Go App being confused about the time. Was this a Smart Controller?

Finally, the .DATs get labelled by the Flight Controller incrementing the FLYXXX.DAT suffix. FLY025, FLY035 and FLY052 are out of sequence with the FLY097 and FLY098 .DATs. Are there more than one AC being used?

Thanks @BudWalker. That makes sense. Yes, a Smart Controller. Yes, my first month's flights (April 2019) were recorded as 1-18-13. I think that was due to the documented April 6 calendar reset GPS problem.
