I normally fly around 15 mph or so but today I made a couple of waypoint missions to again test speed with with turns. This time I maintained heading so the bird never flew backward or sideways. As it turns out - (no pun intended) the bird invariably slows down to turn when it encounters a waypoint - even using curved paths in Litchi. I was flying missions wide open which turns out to be about 25 mph it seems under best conditions.
Second thing I noticed was the video didn't seem as "boring". I went back and looked at video from same area albeit a slower speed and I preferred the video taken at higher speeds.
Huh! I would have figured the slower speed since it gives you time to look at details. I guess I blew that rational out of the water. The advantage to flying faster is shorter flight time + longer missions. So I think that's what I'm going to do from now on unless I have a specific reason not to.
