Fly app crashes when opening settings on Kindle fire tablet

I have the latest Kindle fire 10 and the newest DJI Fly app. I can fly the drone and everything seems ok, but as soon as I tap the three dots to access settings the app crashes and restarts itself.

My guess is that it's something to do with Amazon's modifications to android. Does anyone have experience with this? Can it be fixed by removing all the Amazon apps through ADB?

Is the kindle officially approved by DJI?

My guess it's the version of the DJI Fly app that is causing the problem. I've stuck to using 1.6.9 because of crashing and other issues I've seen with newer versions. I use the Smart Controller primarily though I also use my Galaxy S7 on occasion.

Have you jailbroken or rooted your Kindle Fire? If not, it may help with stability.
