Flying below starting elevation point

So I was just curious ... are there any restrictions to flying the mavic below starting elevation point ? For example if I launched the mavic at the top of a mountain and flew to the base

in my opinion yes.. it'll go from "negative" altitude to positive altidude PLUS the altitude you have set!if anyone tried though..

It works with no problem. I live in the mountains and just 10 minutes ago I hit return to home from -450 feet below my home point.

Just remember that if you land below the starting point, your elevation will reset. So don't fly more than 500 meters below your starting point and land or you won't make it back...

Where I fly, in N CA, I am on a cliff, but there's another cliff behind me, with 100' redwood trees. I almost learned the HARD WAY, about setting RTH altitude. Nuf said.
