Flying Car

I'm usually the first in line to embrace and welcome new technology but this is absolutely INSANE. Why would anyone actually believe the everyday ordinary motorist would be able to purchase and operate a "flying car" without the proper licensing and training.....ever! I know it's fun to dream but the technology just isn't there yet and honestly, I believe it is closer to about 50 more years before we get there. From a drone pilot POV, I actually cringe when I see this single-seater flying around and hear someone mention that anyone can jump behind the wheel and take it for a spin....in Class G. 🤣

Maybe it will be all preprogramed AI control with a RTH function and obstacle avoidance instead of pilot input! One can only hope.

I would imagine that this "Flying Car" would have to follow and obey may of the same rules and laws that we drone flyers must obey, don't fly over people, don't fly over occupied vehicles, and fly in the same airspace as Drones, (under 400' or lower as restrictions apply) and so much more…

I get it, this is cool and there is limited use for these. Perhaps you can rent these instead of jet skis or snow machines or off road vehicles in the backcountry. However, there's no way this is mainstream transportation. As a motorcycle rider most of my adult life, I can assure you the average rider on one of these (if it doesn't have built-in protections) will end up in a bad, bad way after the first few days on one of these. Fine to dabble in the future but I'm wondering when will we get serious.

ON line, it says this will reach 124 MPH (200kph), I think not…) There is no cowling to protect the rider. Only Superman can hold onto something in a 124 mph wind, the rider would fall off long before it reached half that speed. It's all AI generated hype, do not fall for it… (Pun intended…)

It's getting hard and hard to tell but I do believe the specs are overblown. At 124mph, you'll die on that machine if there is a mishap.
