Hey ya'll,

Some of you may remember the post looking for drone operators out of Hawaii. Given my interest in conservation and experience flying from ships I applied for one of the two positions. Well, we just returned from a really successful mission to remove ghost nets and marine debris from the North Pacific Gyre. We flew Mavic 2 Pro's. They will be looking for drone operators again next year. Here's the mission video:

And here's a video showing some of my 'landings" on the ship for those interested in drones and ships, description here Tricks to takeoff from and land on a boat?

On our 7 year yacht voyage down the coast of France, Spain, and Portugal, my wife and myself were always stunned by the amount of waste we saw. Nets, ropes, polestyrene trays, etc almost every day. Sadly, "drones" hadn't been invented, or my video's would have been much more exciting! Stunning video's, by the way.
