Sorry if this is a repeat question. I bought a 2nd hand Mavic air for my wedding anniversary to maldives. I have tried it a few times at home in london but is it going to be different in a remote location when there is no satellite/wifi/gps/etc? I dont want to get there and it stops connecting to my phone or controller. Please help if there is anything i should know.

Hello there... I think the most important thing to learn, is about the rules of your destination country...take a look at this website: Here's a Map with Up-to-Date Drone Laws For Every Country
And about connection lost, it´s look like a lottery! You need to get lucky...
Hello.
I am planning to travel to Maldives soon. I have applied for all the permits to fly, but was wondering if Mavic mini at 249 grams is considered a drone or a toy (and may not need a permit)?
Resurrecting this old thread...
Could a person who successfully followed the procedure to obtain the permit for flying a drone in Maldives advised me what sort of tangible documents s/he got at the end?
I basically followed these steps:
The Maldivian environment is quite unique where 99% of the total geographic area is the ocean. This requires continuous seaplane operations which serve 90+ floating platforms scattered over the country. Seaplanes operate under VFR conditions...

I got a soft-copy of the permit from MNDF (chopped and signed) and with this permit I applied to CAA, but from them, I just got an email stating that they were ok with me flying at the location I applied for (subject to approval of the resort's management). Is this what I was supposed to get or people receive more official papers (like the one I got from MNDF)?
I realize I may sound a bit paranoid but just don't want to get into some weird discussion with the customs/whatever on the arrival or within the resort with the claims I didn't do the paperwork as required.

Ok, so in case somebody else has the same sort of dilemma, I checked with CAA and no other documents are to be provided - the email stating "no objections" is all and should suffice.
I am back and sharing the experience. The MNDF permit instructed me to contact them before flying (they provided a phone number) what I did. Short conversation, and I got the green light. Earlier, CAA also instructed me to limit the attitude to 300ft only (in principle one can fly up to 400ft in Maldives without special permit). I guess the reason could be I was not that far away from the main country airport and near the approach path, but another, more likely reason, could be zillions of seaplanes flying around and some of them surely below 300ft. Actually I had a situation I dove down as the approaching seaplane seemed to fly approximately my attitude and on possible collision course.
The views are spectacular and I think they are well worth this little bit of bureaucracy for a peace of mind.
