Put it in sports mode (switch on the right side of the controller). Disables the sensors so you can fly back....

Curious to know if using a filter may help in this situation. Probably not, but has anyone experienced an obstacle avoidance caused by the sun while having a ND filter installed?
I'm still waiting for my MP to arrive. Can the front OA sensors be turned off mid-flight?

Correct me if I'm missing something here, but the filters go on the camera lens, and not the OA sensors. So, on or off, the filters would have zero effect on the sensors vs. sun issue.Actually the filters make it a lot worse and I don't know why. When I was using the 0200 firmware, I had no problems with RTH even into the sun. When I used the DJI filters, the RTH just would not work into the sun. Now have the 0400 firmware and RTH won't work into the sun even without the filters so it is now worse than before. Even has problems when the sun is at an angle above the camera and sensors.
Or if you have enough battery, you can serpentine, steer left for a while, then right. It's what I did and it got me home.Haven't tried, but I think they can. After my episode I realized when the Mavic stops when heading into the sun, just spin it backwards and fly home.
