My advice is, don't go. It doesn't matter what the law is, if the 'man' wants your money, he will confiscate your possesions and make you pay to get it, or yourself out. It is a dangerous place. There are plenty of other places to vacation.

It sounds like a work trip, they are going.
But the OP will have a choice to take their drone or not, or at least fly it when they get there.

Can't say it's a work trip. I work on a ship but flying my drone when i go ashore is some sort of a not work related trip. ?

Yes, that's the impression I had, ship trip = work, drone flying = R&R
Personally think flying off the ship would be relatively safe, as long as not restricted airspace, keep it sensible.
Other places would likely be ok to keeping to local rules and such.
I've read many places of cultural heritage, historical sites, have a drone ban.
