Hi!
Initially I had posted about my 1st Mavic 2 Pro that had "Gimbal Overload" but was otherwise in great shape ~ that ones is getting a complete gimbal replacement. I just got a 2nd Mavic 2 Pro to fly in the mean time. . seems to be in good shape. . and I'm still learning about the Mavic 2 Pro (only had Phantom 3a and Spark). The issue is: When I'm about to take off, the ground in front is in focus. .everything looks good. I then take off. .as I rise above the trees in front of me and the houses are in the distance, it's not in focus. I discovered that if I TAP the screen (smart controller) where it's out of focus, it comes into what looks like pretty sharp focus. I never had to do this with my Phantom or Spark. With THOSE using my phone, tapping the screen would adjust the exposure for that part of the picture. I have it set to Auto Focus (as far as I can tell) so I'd think it would focus based on what's in front of it. Am I doing something wrong, wrong settings, etc. or is there something wrong with the Camera? I have 30 days to return in (Ebay). I can post the video if it makes it easier to see exactly what I'm talking about. .(how do I post the video?). Thanks in advance and for your patience with what might seem obvious to the more experienced Mavic 2 owners 🙏😊

Auto focus doesn't mean continual focus. I don't have a Smart Controller, but I have to half-press the shutter button on my M2P to focus because I prefer Single (non-continuous) focus mode. (You can also program a C button to focus.)

Search your M2P manual for "Auto Focus-Continuous". I always turn it off myself because I hate it when it auto hunts focus when I already have what I want in focus, it ruins the shots more often than not.

Both single and continuous focus are still considered auto-focus, because full 'manual' focus is something you do with your fingers on a focus ring of a camera lens, which of course is not something that's possible with a drone.

If you do have focus set to continuous on your controller app and it's not doing that, then you may have a problem.
