As I was following a boat, someone was following me.

Meaning no offense but if that isn't faked you had a VERY lucky escape there.
I would say the plane was very low but even so I suspect you'd at least have faced some very uncomfortable questions if there had been a collision

Were you flying "eyes on the drone and its surrounding" or screen watching ?
Assuming you are not partially or completely deaf, did you not hear the plane ?
No offense is meant by that, I am deaf.
