Plotted a Waypoint mission in Litchi with 7 WP's and 1 POI (our house). The icon on the SC screen pointed to the POI (home) from all 7 WP's. However, when it flew the camera faced next WP instead of the POI. Any suggestions? How do I solve this problem?

I am not sure, if the TE got frightened because he waited the mission to complete ...
The good thing is, you didn't panic ... remember, even using Litchi, you could hit the Pause or the RTH button if you feel uncomfortable what the drone is doing to stop the current mission.

When you select Waypoint mode, there is a Mission Settings icon on the left (third from the top). First option is Heading. You probably had this set to Auto. Change it to Custom.

Happy flying.

I’m confused by the thread title.....the camera didn’t face where you wanted it to.....and this scared you?
Yes, because when I regained control ... I was guiding it thinking the camera was facing home when it was facing away. I therefore guided it in the opposite direction of what I intended and it crashed into a tree. If the tree hadn't been there it would have flown God knows where ...

Thanks, good. Does anyone know how to correct flight path to replicate icon on the SC screen? It's facing in the the opposite of the intended direction?

Thanks. On my SC the Mission Settings options are (1) Next WP, (2) Initial Direction, (3) User Controlled and (4) WP defined. Which would you recommend? (I have it on #3)

So, you were flying it by looking through the camera only, not actually watching the aircraft or going quickly between the two....

But yeah, I guess if you're flying by just using the camera and the aircraft isn't doing what you want it to....and it crashes....yeah I'd be pretty frightened too....that I'd damaged something or someone and I'm going to get sued.....

Good input. I was tracking the bird visually. As it flew away it grew smaller. Hard to see camera vs tail end. Backdrop was a grove of tall pines, so dark drone was against dark forest. The crash and drop was how I located it. I’m hoping someone on this forum can make suggestion to ensure drone focuses on POI and keeps that orientation ...

Yeah, it's an easy trap to fall in.....you're going along just fine, easy to see it against the sky....you look down and descend a little to get closer to something....look up and it's gone....disappeared in the treeline. Even my big hex Typhoons can disappear like this.....and my Mavic Air is really bad...I can lose that guy even 500' away.....

I'm not bagging on ya....(well, maybe a little) just getting to the root of the issue. I try to learn from other's mistakes when I can and it's important to understand EXACTLY what happened and why.

If you set the heading to "User Controlled" then it expects you to control heading manually, via the remote control, during the flight. It doesn't result in the aircraft pointing to the next waypoint either - that would be TNW (option 1).The aircraft arrow orientation in the mission plan is irrelevant in the user controlled mode.

Good input. Thanks. So I selected #4 WP Defined. Will try that one ...

Trying to see my gray drone (zoom) when it is lower than a distant tree line is nearly impossible. That is why I added strobe lights - for DAYLIGHT flying. Different colors for front and back so that I can judge the orientation, too.
