Very nice, they were completely oblivious to you , and you got that shot of the mother bird protecting her young from falling off I imagine.
So much beatiful water did you get any shots of that across the beach skimming as you go. ?

It did look like the mother was protecting chicks but I think it is a drying technic Cormorants have to do because unlike other water birds they don't have a natural oil to shed water. So they all spread wings to dry after diving. I did get some shots skimming there and back but didn't look interesting.
Thanks for your words.

Hard to say I wasn't thinking at the time as to how far away I was, I just thought how far before I disturbed them and then came back a bit more. Then I zoomed in. The aircraft was about 15 meters?
The Mavic 2 is so quiet especially with all the waves about.
I think that is what is so special about the Mavic 2 it's got a nice low buzz tone.

I think you answered the question. Saw on bird spread its wings either to prep for flight or air out his arm (wing) pits. Nice Job

Great to see your video @John Gowland - I do like seeing videos from around the world.
I totally agree about the M2 Zoom you can get close-ups without being close...
I will post my short 'Egrets visit Thailand' video...… Check it out...
