Nice reminder! Reminds me on my Navy days in a fighter squadron, where if you forgot to remove one of these you were in deep trouble I just might have to get one for nostalgia's sake. However, I found a gimbal protector on Amazon that I leave on rather than forgetting to remove the original cover. It extends beyond the gimbal, so provide adequate protection for my purposes especially in the case of a bad landing.

Don’t think those sunshades for the camera are designed for protection as much as for shielding sunlight. They won’t provide much protection for a bad landing as they are open below, and they won’t protect the gimbal in transit as they intentionally leave the gimbal movement unimpeded (which is precisely what we try to avoid other than in flight). There are better options for locking the gimbal down during transport, I think.

Maybe I should have spelled out the reason for the inquiry. The only function, I believe, for any sunshade is to reduce glare in the event you have a photo or video opportunity. I’m really not sure why you traveled down the road you took when responding. So, is this sunshade available for the MA2? If so, could you please provide site info so I can place an order. Thanks!

My apologies. What I was inquiring about is the hood that’s on the drone in the B&W photo. You already answered my first question that it is a photo of a MA2. 2nd and the last question I promise is what website can I go to to purchase the same?
