The Freewell variable ND filter itself weighs only 8 grams.

Yes, it's often only shown as shipping weight, Amazon does this, so easy to get confused about that.
8g doesn't sound right either, way too heavy if so.

Eg. I just checked PolarPro filters on their site for the M1P / MPP, the ND plain are 1.08g, the NDPL 1.31g.
