Going to be traveling there in early May. I see some state parks and conservation areas around but before I start calling them thought I’d seek guidance here. Thanks.
Utah State Parks are more open to drone use than National Parks, but each one seems to have its own unique set of rules. Snow Canyon, which is a beautiful red rock canyon near St. George, does allow drones with a permit. You can check out the details in this document:
The big takeaway is that you have to apply for a permit 2 weeks ahead of time. So you'll want to get on that.
You can also check out any BLM land in the area. That's usually fair game so long as you're not near any airports or helipads. It's a beautiful area. Hope you get to fly and enjoy it.
