So I got my first Mavic. Bought a Mavic Pro, still had the plastic protector on lens itself, less than 1 hour flight time, 5 batteries, extra low noise props, hard case, soft case, hub charger and more for a ridiculous price that I had to do it.
Got it yesterday. It has been raining, cold and 19mph wind. It stopped raining today, started it up and flew at 6’. This thing does not like wind. Love the way it handles but at the beach, it will struggle. My old Solo rocks it still at 25 mph winds with 30mph gusts. Won’t be getting rid of that one for sure. Still, Mavic is pretty cool.

It should be able to handle than.
My only "guess" is that maybe the low noise props could be a piece of the issue??? Those props were designed with different esc's I believe on the Mavic 2. I don't know. You might try the OEM stock props for the Mavic Pro Gen I if you have any to verify/troubleshoot.
Mine is rock solid at maybe high 20's in wind speed.
You may have encountered higher wind speed than you think. The beach is notorious for deceiving winds (especially as you climb in alltitude.
Clutching here dude......:)

It’s 19 at the surface. Upper is definitely 25+ gusts. I know it’s rated for 15 mph. It just doesn’t have as much weight.

The M1P is a great aircraft.
Still get a thrill flying mine after 3 years, and only a couple of rookie errors that led to one gimbal problem, and one minor crash.
Been repaired for a couple of years now I guess, and never another issue.

It can handle wind pretty well, but I generally like videoing in fairly sedate to mild conditions for the smoothness of flight and ground vision (no vastly moving trees etc), but have flown must do's recently when on the road, and I was wrapped with how well it did.

Do you have other DJI drones, or is this your first ?
The Solo looks about the same size as the MPs, it will likely perform similarly in wind I imagine.
Enjoy the MP.

Yes, first DJI. I have two Solos. I know the solo is old but it performs well and love the open source community. But the DJI has really blown me away with capability. I think already my favorite feature is tripod mode.

my favorite feature is tripod mode.

Great for close work, but too slow for distance / landscape type flying.
Good thing is with that, you can drop sensitivity of gimbal speed and yaw in settings, and have it much slower / smoother.
Not sure how much you can muck about with solo settings like that, but the DJI drones are very good like that.

You can only slow the speed, not the sensitivity or braking, which really help to smooth everything out.
