Grangemouth oil refinery : A drone tour. Ahead of it's imminent closure and loss of many jobs I thought it important to capture the site as it is before refining ends and the site is turned into a storage terminal. Grangemouth is most commonly known for the oil refinery as so many tens of thousands of people have been involved there at one time or another over the 100+ years the site has been there. Sadly, like many other industrial business's it will soon be no more. Hope you enjoy the video.

Nice shots, especially the night time views.
I worked at the smelting works at Avonmouth up until they closed and was allowed to take shots in and around the plant while processes were still live. Unfortunately, consumer drones hadn’t been thought of then so just stills.

Thank you. I worked here for many years and thought it was important to capture it as a working refinery before it's gone forever.
The place at nighttime is just incredible to see, like something out of Blade Runner.

A great way to document an incredible industrial complex. Very well done. I also liked the nighttime shots. It's the sort of 'dark satanic mills' scene from the past.

Another great video - thx for sharing!
Only visited Aberdeen once just before the oil industry arrived so this was an update for me. So sad that’s all going but I guess that’s what’s global warming is all about. Just hope everyone there gets loads of help with the transition.

Thanks. The people employed there are getting the usual government line of money available to train you for a new career. That usually translates to absolutely nothing. It's not just those directly employed (around 450) it's the contracors, services and the many business's who rely on this place. That will run into thousands.

Excellent video. It is important to document to remind people what once was. So very sad to see such important industries closing down.

Wonderful video, reminds me of the refineries in Texas where I used to live. I even worked at a few thru my employment with other contracted companies in my youth. Your work is always impressive.

Very cool to watch, I really liked the night flight with a the lights going . Fascinating . Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! You've captured some history.
Has the demand for petrol dropped or is it technology makes other refineries more effecient or is this one old 'enough' not to keep it operating?

Another great one to watch!
