What is the difference Mavic1 / Mavic2? Is it worth it to dump my Mavic1?

Hi there and welcome. I am also from SA. I recently upgraded from mavic 1 to the Zoom.
I am very impressed with the longer flight times and the overall flight performance.

What is the difference Mavic1 / Mavic2?

Here are some other notable features not mentioned in the specs:

• Better build quality
• Less fragile gimbal design
• Upgraded camera (Hasselblad with 1" sensor OR camera with 2x optical zoom)
• Downward facing light

Howzit boet. Don't dump the MP, it's still a very capable drone. If you have the money to upgrade to a Mavic 2 then yes, do so. The M2P has a 20MP Hasselblad camera with a 1" sensor, that is a serious camera upgrade. The M2Z has the same camera as the MP with added zoom functionality. If you are a photographer ( I am a photographer) then the M2P might be a better option, it all depends what your interests are.
I'm heading to SA in May and will be in the Pilansberg area and Transkei coast, hoping to get some good images.

Welcome to MavicPilots from Dayton Ohio USA! Extended flight times, better video transmission, better stability, extra OA sensors, quieter flights are just a few of the improvements. I still have my original Mavic Pro as it is still an excellent machine and a good backup to the M2P. Fly safe and have fun!
