Even when I was in my teens (30 years ago!) I was planning on fitting 2 cameras to a rc-helicopter and fitting a helmet with 2 screens for a 3D-FPV-experience. Of course I was years ahead and technology couldn't deliver.
But we are getting close nowadays.
About a year ago I bought my first "drone", still a toy for 40$ but with real-time video transmission. Flying that midget wasn't that easy but entertaining.
This year brought the first interesting "real" multicopter for me and I thought about buying a Phantom 4 or similar, but I found it too bulky.
Then they anounced the Karma and I thought "Yes! That's it!" but thankfully I waited long enough to buy it until they anounced the Mavic. So I ordered it on 2nd of November from dji and hoped to get it before christmas.
Luckily I found it in a local electronics market and bought it like 2 weeks ago.
Having only one battery (2nd is ordered) and because weather around here is either rainy or stormy I flew that baby maybe 5 or 6 times but I'm very impressed by the way that thing flies and the image quality.
So I'm waiting for my 2nd (and later probably the 3rd) battery and better weather to really have fun with the Mavic Pro.
I wish you all a lot of fun with your flying toys and "immer eine Handbreit Luft unter dem Propeller"
