Hello, all!

I’m brand new…sort of. I have flown toy drones in the past and as I consistently crashed them, I never really considered getting a higher end model. Then after some discussion with some people, I learned that drones of this caliber are infinitely more stable and easier to fly than the ones I’ve ‘played’ with in the past. After some research, I opted with the Air 2S drone and looking forward to learning how to fly it.

I have a photography company called FatAtSea Photography, and my intent with the drones is to capture images and videos of my travels. So of particular interest to me is to ensure I am operating a drone legally overseas like in Europe and the Caribbean.

Lots to learn, though already being a professional pilot, I already have a good foundation to explore drone flying in. Looking forward to this new endeavor!

Hello from the Crossroads of America Panzerbjorn74

Cheap drones are easy to crash.
DJI drones are easy to fly. :)

Since you have a "real" drone and if you haven't done it, go to the FAA and register the aircraft.

You'll probably be a recreational flyer now until you obtain the Part 107 for commercial use of the drone.

Also take the TRUST test and have a copy of it when you fly.

Good luck and welcome to the Forum.

Registering it with the FAA is on my to-do list the minute the drone gets here in the mail. :)

Already did my Part 107 certification. It was quick and easy. Now I’m trying to register in Spain as an Operator. That one may be a bit more complicated. Still trying to figure out if I have to start on the ground floor over there and do things as if I was doing Part 107 here with no Part 61 Pilot experience, or if there’s a simpler solution with already existing ATP and sUAS ratings.

It’s already been a good resource. Because of this forum, I’ve already completed the free online course in Luxembourg to fly drones in Europe and working through the registration as a Drone Operator in Ireland. So, good info here, so far, :)

Cool. Is funny as I was born in Durham at Duke and grew up in Chapel-Hil. Lived in RTP for awhile and worked at Darryls in Raleigh and back towards Chapel Hill . Small world eh 😀
