Hello Everyone from the San Francisco Bay, on the island of Alameda.

• First time-ever UAS pilot with a Mavic Mini (MM)
• Bought her last Thursday; took Friday off work to fly all over the Bay and the Coast
• Radio control hobbyist of planes, copters, trucks, buggies, sedans, sailboats, and powerboats for 35+ years. (Thumb-flying is a hard habit to break)
• 18 battery cycles in the last 48 hours...crazy!
• Training for Helix around our sailboat
• Biggest lesson yet: Seagulls may bully a Mini when she’s really far over the water.

Very helpful Moderators here, unlike a certain saltwater aquarium forum I joined a couple years back. Thank you, Gentlemen, for your patience and quick responses. I look forward to the learning curve, and eventually paying it forward to subsequently new folks.

Good call, BigAl. It just takes a few bad apples and lax mods to ruin a good compendium. Yes, I’ve been reef-keeping for nearly 30 years, with no signs of letting up.

You appear well-entrenched in this community, so I look forward to gleaning tons of info from you.

Thanks for the welcome, Douglas. I’ve already amassed some rookie aerial footage over the last few days, so I‘ll post some content once I brush up on my editing skills.
