Hey all,

I was just wondering, by the end of this month I have the first part of my drone pilot license and later this year, the full (<150kg).
If you have that license and want to do something commercial, I need approval from the Belgium BCAA (the Belgium FAA), if they give me approval for a flight over a city, I might need to fly higher then max height set by DJI.
I checked for the Inspire 2 where the max elevation is 5000meters above sea (sorry, ground) level but still restricted by DJI to 500 meters.
Is there an official way to remove this restriction??

The Mavic is 500M above ground level not sea level, I live at 8000' so I can fly it up to 9500'. You can fly it 1500 feet above the starting altitude.
Regards,
-d.

You are correct. The elevation is GPS based.
I am in contact with DJI now to see what we can do.
As soon as I have my license, I might need to go higher if a client requires that.
Every flight I need to register with the authorities. They will say YES/NO, not DJI
