You're actually right, sorry. IR only! Wouldn't make sense to have additional stereo cameras on the bottom otherwise.

Thats ok, easy mistake to make. You had me believing it for a bit- thinking wow, they are pretty cool transducers- I mean its possible. Its funny that its also equipped wih fancy dancy landing lights!

Water versus land. Different barometric pressure. I have lost a drone for this reason.

Remember, water may appear translucent with ripples, then perfectly clear where the bottom is detected. One minute the AC detects water surface and maintains altitude, then the next the so-called bottom drops out so the AC does too to maintain perceived altitude.

And there is also a Multipath effect , like shattered glass

Took the drone out today and didn’t appear to have any issues. Have a trip planned next week to Poland with their great drone freedoms so hopefully will have the opportunity to do more tests. Initial impressions are good!

Nice one, mine is still flying well. Looks like the IMU calibration did the job, phew!
