Yeah there are tons of things to see from our view. Hard though to fly what faa calls safe.

Welcome! Just don't try to fly in DC. Flying anywhere in DC is verboten.

Is DC geofenced or just accepted as being a permanent NFZ?

Yeah even if you do find a way to get airborn there they would shoot it down if found a threat and most likely catch a federal charge

It‘s a drive from DC but wouldn’t Ocean City be a great place to fly? What about Kent Island, east of Annapolis?

I’m in Cali these days, but grew up in Fort Washington and was Navy ‘88 (when we flew RC fixed wings without restriction). ?️
