Brand new to the Mavic Family - thank you, Father’s Day! Look forward to sharing with and learning from this group. A couple of quick questions, to begin:

1) is there a way that I can enter an address and the drone Will essentially fly to that location?
2) can I target my home with the camera and then navigate 360 degrees around the house and the camera stays trained on the house?
3) what are some of the best tips you could offer to new pilots? Are there recommended videos I can watch or beginner exercises I can perform until flight becomes second nature?

thanks all - happy droning.

Welcome to the forums - a lot of good info here. Also, the search function (magnifying glass icon upper right) is a great way to find answers to many of the questions a "newbie" will have. We were all "newbies" at one point.

Read the owner's manual, oh by the way did I mention read the owner's manual. Not sure which drone you have but there are many YT videos on all of the different drones. DJI also offers tutorial videos

welcome to the forum ,before you do all the wonderful things with your drone, (which model by the way) ,register with the FAA and read up on the rules for flying where you live

Howdy neighbor!

  1. No, not with the DJI apps. Even if you could, I am assuming this other address is not next door so you would be violating FAA regulations if the drone flies beyond line of sight.
  2. Yes you can. It depends on the drone model and the specific DJI app. Read the manual completely and watch YouTube videos online on such topics.
  3. Read the manual. Read it again. Start off close by and slow. Learn the basics first. Ask plenty of questions in the forums here. Know the FAA regulations and follow them!
Take a lesson from an experienced pilot...shameless plug LOL. I am available.
