Just joined MavicPilots and they suggested an introduction. So that's what I am doing.
I live Birmingham, UK
I Can't fly atm for 2 reasons:
1. I lost my Mavic2 Zoom in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam and haven't replaced it yet. It was my first trip with it so was learning. Did have some beautiful footage but learnt my biggest lesson of all, don't try to land it on a moving boat!! without better skills. I tried to buy one but dronesdirect don't sell them bare.
2. Just gone into lockdown last night here in the UK 23/3 due to the world pandemic. Scary times for us all. I remember sugar shortage, bread shortage, electric power cuts, 3 day week (all in the 70's) but this is far worse.

Welcome IanT from self quarantine in Western New York. I count myself luckier than most in the I live in a somewhat suburban area so I can still get out and fly weather permitting .
Strange days indeed. It was beautiful day Sunday, blue skies, no wind to speak of. As I was getting ready to fly I started to check the winds aloft and noticed something I haven't experienced since the day after 9/11 not one contrail in the sky, no planes. Strange days.

Be safe out there my friends, be kind to everyone you meet, and we will get through this.

Welcome to the group, coming from WI USA here. Most folks here are supposed to be staying at home as well. I have been deemed "essential" so still going to work every day (or night). Sorry to hear about your zoom, I have the same bird. Yes, I think a moving landing pad would not be a good idea. I've been flying for some time, but I think I'll stick to a stationary takeoff and landing pad

Welcome from Chicago the Windy City, and now on lock down as well. Sorry, about the loss of your drone, but on the bright side, you can always buy another one. And, learning a very expensive lesson, about not
landing on a boat, unless you get more experience. So, far have not had any big issues, but I don't try
flying dangerously, don 't want stress. One, of the things I like to do is keep learning what not to do from everybody here. This forum is international, we can learn from one another, its very useful to gain knowledge and confidence. I always say knowledge is power, but only when knowledge is applied to
keeping safe when flying. Fly safe, have fun, and treat others with kindness.
