United Kingdom,
It is completely stripped. I bought it with a cracked shell thinking I could easily replace it, the seller didn't mention that it was stripped though.
I can't complain as I repaired the crack with lock cylinder dust and cyanoacrylate glue, it has a scar but it's solid and has no issues flying.
I would though still like to replace the top shell as I bought a replacement (scar free!) the problem is that that damned screw will not budge.
see images from the repair of the crack, a healthy screw, and the damned stripped screw.

Is there a 1mm/1.5mm screw extractor bit that could do the trick (is that even possible considering the screw is in a recess?

I know that there are some creative minds here on the forums and hoping that someone can come up with a good workaround for me, failing that it looks as though I will be stuck with Scarface...

Thanks guys.

Hugh

Amazon sells inexpensive mini screw extractor sets, I also have a IFixIt set that works really well.

***Oh, just saw you’re in the UK, maybe you can find a similar link on Amazon UK for it. I’m not sure about IFixIt though, sorry about that!

Try wedging some thin rubber between the screwdriver and the screw. Maybe part of an elastic band.
I tried it and even though it was tricky with the screw being in a small recess hole (Top front right shell cover) I managed to get a small rubber band in but it would not bite/grip : (

I am not giving up "Screw that screw!" I will find a way...

Have you tried standard jewellers screwdrivers? I've found the the flat tipped ones that are slightly oversized for the diagonal head rebate can be wedged in... diagonally... and can give you enough grip to start the screw moving.
