Hey guys, please help.
Ok, so I was doing something silly, and trying for a distance run, and have lost my drone somewhere...
Here's what happened at the end.
I got to a point where I had low battery, and the MA put itself into RTH mode. It was never going to make it, so I switched the RTH off, and then tried to land.
At that point, the remote disconnected.

I guess what I need to know is what I should expect the MA to do when it disconnects from the remote?
Will it stop and hover in place? or will it try and RTH?
I have the last known gps coords, and looked around that for an hour or so this afternoon, but no luck.
Can anyone give me an idea as to what the MA would have done when it disconnected?

I have attached my flight log txt file below incase that will shed any light on what may have happened.

Thanks Spin.
Not sure if this is what you were referring to, but I have converted to a CSV file. (Cant upload it as forum won't let me ?)
I can view it all in Excel, but I don't know how to understand it all.

Well firstly, that was completely self-inflicted. The app told you that you only had enough battery left for RTH at 268 seconds into the flight, and yet you continued to fly the aircraft away for another 188 seconds.

In terms of where it went – it was returning at the end and so there are clues in the log. The disconnects – entirely expected for an MA at that distance – were not a factor in the RTH and autolanding sequence. It will have continued to RTH until the smart battery capacity fell to the smart battery autolanding level, at which point it will have initiated descent and landed.

Looking at the smart battery calculations for autolanding and extrapolating the battery depletion rate indicates that autolanding should have happened at around 635 - 640 s. Extrapolating the location based on the last recorded progress back towards the home point indicates that it would have been around 6060 m out at that point.

Plotting that on Google Earth gives the location shown below:

I'd probably be somewhat confident of that being correct to within 100 m or so.

Didn't think MA transmission can get that far.
I would understand if you were following behind in a car (not driving obviously), and planning to do a 1 way distance run. Otherwise, lost for words

It’s unbelievable.

Wow, that pretty much nails it....I gave up when I converted the ft to mtrs and realising this bags a douche

Ok, so as I said at the start, I was trying something silly. And yes, I deserve the verbal beating. Totally self inflicted. I was trying for a one way distance limit push. The area is in the middle of nowhere, very little to any signal interference, and it is open dry farmland (currently in drought, so very little greenery.
I do really appreciate all the help that you guys have offered. Thank you.
Im heading out now to search for it again

I wasn't trying to offer a beating - just to point out that the software did try to prevent this from happening by warning you.
