I’m in Northern Virginia, not far from DC

I am sorry... There is a huge no fly zone around DC if you were unaware... Check out DJI's Fly Safe Map here
I am based just north of Baltimore and have flown around Northern VA often, just do some homework and make sure you can fly there in advance.
There is nothing like unpacking everything and getting setup, just to realize you are in a NFZ
