Air 2s HMAS Adelaide leaves Melbourne

Cool, they are an interesting ship, also known as Landing Helicopter Docks (LHD’s).
I did a job for the electronics contractor (Melb docklands office) to make a nice table and glass case for a model of the class, delivered it and installed during the building of them.
It’d be there in the room when the navy team had meetings with the contractor.

What a great connection to the ship. Let's hope it's safely preserved somewhere appropriate!

There's actually 2 of them, the earlier vessel was HMAS Canberra, commissioned 2014 about a year before HMAS Adelaide.
You don't hear much about them in various Navy news articles etc, but they are fairly specialised in landing troops and supporting them once inserted onshore.

I would think the model is still in the contractors corporate offices in the docklands area.
This is the one, built the table and glass display case . . .
