If DJI made Mavics on 3D printers, we'd be waiting until kingdom come for our little birds.... They are injection moulded.

Forget emerging technology, though. Strange that no one has ever tried to hack a CNC machine, or an injection molding machine for that matter. These days, they are connected to the server/web just like any other PC. And a LOT more of our parts are made on those.

Also being in manufacturing I can tell you our processes are strictly controlled. If cycle times varied or tools lasted to long or not long enough, people would notice. "Hey why was that part done 15 minutes sooner than the last exact same part.

What a strange story title. Thats like making an bad tire for a car and saying they were able to crash the car. Of course a drone will fail with the wrong props. Anything with a bad part will fail. Make the story focused on the hacking.
