who would you trust and how much more would you be willing to pay for that 'confidence'?

I've bought from Adorama before and I'd have a lot of confidence in them. Right now, their price for the Creator Combo is $5497. So then:

$5497 - Adorama

$4688 - Amazon - Digital Village

$4899 - Us Drone Supply

$4999 - Drone Works

$4999 - Ebay - Infinity Drones

$4350 - Ebay - Triple Horse (supposedly a US supplier)

$3760 - Ebay - South Korea (tariff obstacle)

$3483 - Ebay - Japan (tariff obstacle)

maybe I'm stuck in the past but it's really hard for me to trust EBay sellers. I know theoretically the price is a lot lower and one of those listings is supposedly a US seller, supposedly meaning there is no tariff issue....supposedly

I have an Amazon Prime account and again, supposedly, I'd have the protection of the 30 day refund/return policy. But I'm really not sure saving $800 is worth walking out on the thin ice of a risky Amazon seller. For the rest of the non-Ebay sellers, I'd be really inclined to pony up the extra $500 for the confidence of buying from Adorama. Am I being too conservative?

by the way, has anybody dealt with Drone Works for a major purchase?

I think we already have multiple threads covering this topic pretty throughly so these really aren't unanswered questions. There's enough detail particularly in this thread for anyone to make an informed decision but just like your post or any transaction in today's economy, timing is everything and each and every day that passes means it's impossible to predict whether anything has changed. In this volatile economy, this is the new normal, you never know what to expect so please factor in those risks. Especially when it comes to tariffs, we scream almost daily that we get our drones from overseas without paying tariffs or customs fees but that could change at any point so buyer beware. However, I think it's pretty easy to make a good determination on where we stand today. $500 is a lot of money to pay for confidence and certainty and I think it's a rip off (primarily because I personally believe those "resellers" are doing the same thing you can easily do yourself and they aren't paying tariffs but passing along those costs to you as if they are). With the difference in the amount of money, you could get a Mini 5 Pro kit. We live in a free market and I guess sometimes not having the knowledge yourself has to hurt a little.

In the end, the Mavic 4 Pro is as awesome drone and you can't go wrong whether you buy it from an established dealer like Adorama or B&H or a well-known seller like Drone Works or you take your chances with our hard-working eBay sellers in Japan and South Korea. It's up to you, I would like to think of this expensive purchase as buy once, cry one to get a quality drone that good enough to last many years after the great DJI drone ban of 2025.

Have used Drone Works for several years, purchased several drones from them including the M4 Pro Creative. Always quick and professional service. Reliable and Honest to work with. Highly Recommended!!!

People forget protection from the credit card company. It adds a layer of security. Not often, but in all cases they have supported me with issues. I routinely but items (higher value items1k+) on ebay, amazon, forums... My standard is to pay with paypal using a credit card. Even if Paypal will not support me, I have had the credit card step in and reverse the charge. Never use zelle, Paypal friends and family... because onnce the money is sent, there is no recourse. Ebay also offers a purchase guarantee, not the greatest but it is another layer of protection. In the end, buy where you are confident, as only you can determine your individual balance of added cost versus added complications.
