House committee holds hearing on risks of flying drones

When People started to identify UFO with Drones we took a giant step back.

and some kind of brain washing took effect and all the media are calling them drones and not UFO or UAP so its time for DJI to change its base name from DJI Drones to DJI Camera Copters.

Phantomrain.org
Gear to Fly in the Rain. Land on the water and search for UFO activity.

I watched enough of these guys "droning" on and on about criminal activity, nefarious uses of "UAS, also known as drones" (several of them used the exact verbage). It seems they only briefly talk about the good drones do in Search & Rescue or Agriculture or other ways. They leave out the millions of us who use our drones for shooting scenery or commercially for inspections, real estate or other cool things. Yes, I absolutely understand many people use the tech for wrong things. Just about anything can fall into that category. Yes, criminals need to get tried, convicted, and sentenced. I guess the part that urks me is WHEN something gets done about this, EVERY drone suddenly gets looked at as "if it's flying, it's going something wrong." We know it's not true, but we can be labeled as nefarious by association.

To be clear, All comments in this post are my own.

I know it's been said already but it's starting to become clear that more drone laws and more restrictions are on the way. Here we have Congress asking for and being asked for more power at the state and local level to deal with drones. If you have seen the hearing, I know it's a long 2 hours but it's really good stuff to not only get an idea what might be coming but also to understand current capabilities. It doesn't look good IMO and that's not even counting the situation with the unknown objects flying around NJ. The thought that officers, deputies, troopers, and constable will have police powers over all drone activities within their jurisdiction is a recipe for disaster for the drone community, that's my opinion.

I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. Especially if they are given this authority and can decide we are breaking the law WITHOUT any training in regards to FAA rules or airspace jurisdiction.
