Even though I use the Moverio glasses I frequently lose the aircraft in the sky from as near as 300 meters. When I lose it, I want to find it quickly. I have tried for a few years now many torchers. If I used a tablet or phone it would be hopeless. I bought the Lumen Cube months ago but put it away because I thought it too heavy and difficult to attach to my Mavic Pro. The other day I attached the cube to a Phantom and was amazed I could see it from 1 Kilometre away in the brightest Australian sun. I don't fly that far usually but it means I can find it any time when its close, i.e. a few hundred meters. At the moment I am looking for whales in their migrations south on the West Australian coast. The Cube is 1,500 lumens, and is perfect for my Phantom, I don't care about the shaved minutes I have lost.
I want to attach it to my Mavic 2 Zoom.
Has anyone come across an attachment? I have tried to attach it to the top of the aircraft or even battery but do not feel comfortable with that. The Lumen Cube company, for some reason, have been unable so far to make attachments.

Thanks jaybird66 I have tried that but where to put it? It can't interfere with any communication systems. Velcro itself is not enough, it wobbles on the top front or battery so it needs tape of some sort as well.
I think it needs to be attached to a leg but not close because of
antenna issues. The Lumen company do seem to be having this problems with this issue, attaching without interfering with multiple systems.

Isn't the Mavic1 attachment nearly identical? Have you tried that yet?

I believe I've seen a lume cube attached to the top of a M 2 body using a PGYTech connector. This connector has a 1/4-20 stud that apparently screws into the cube.
Please don't take my word for any of this as it's all recollection of something I came across a few weeks ago but it might be something you could check out.

Velcro and a strong rubber band stretched around the cube and the body of the drone

I just got mine haven’t tried it out. Check out flight path on you tube he has a video

Just ordered mine only $13 Au. But going away for a few weeks next week so will have to wait till I get back. It was on AU ebay.
I have some other ideas for the adapter as well.

Thanks Keule very nice. He he is actually reviewing the Lume Cube Air and the attachment as an aside.
The new air looks great but he does not say how bright or how much lighter the Air is over the original one. Its
actually about half the weight but half the brightness.

So I will stick with the original which is awesome on my Phantom and will be on my Mavic 2. I don't need it in Thailand where I am going. Need to switch all lights off.
Wish I had the enterprise :)
Thanks to all of you for your excellent help.

The Lume Cube mount for the Mavic 1 is too short. Lume Cube has the new one in test and is scheduled to be available next week. They attached to the arms front to back and have a thread for the Lume Cubes to mount. You can then adjust the angle of the Cubes.

Thanks HoozierDroneDaddy, will keep it in mind. For the moment I am going with the single one mounted on the top. I only need one and its nicely balanced on the top.
However two Airs would be a very good alternative.

You guys should check out the Lume Cube site. They just announced (and they are available) the Lume Cube Air. Much lighter than the original version. I just got one and they are impressive. Basically the AIr is about 2 oz compared to the 11 oz of the original. It is about half as bright (400 lux @ 1m vs 750 lux @ 1m). The only concern you might have with the air, the back of the cube has a magnet for easy use and setup in the field...mounts solid on metal. I don't know if they will play havoc with the Phantom or Mavic navigation controllers. I have not tried it yet. I use it mainly for photography and it's a great device for those needs.

I guess due to the announcement of the Lume Cube Air, the regular Cubes are down about 15 buck at about $63.00.
