WHich are the most common,? I would assume the most common ones are stable and reliable.

Isn't this kind of a slap in the face to DJI? Or are they just happy to sell you the drone, to hell with it's actual operation!

DJI has other apps like Ground Control that will work with thier drone lineup. Other vendors like Lichti provide automated flights and FPV. Most of that apps that work well are dependent on DJI to provide an SDK or Software Developers Kit.

I am confused why DJI would have different apps for the same product? Are the different apps developed for different strengths?

DJI Go is still the best general flying and photography app but there are many other apps used for special purposes not catered for in DJI Go.
DJi has encouraged developers to produce software that uses some of the drone's abilities beyond what's possible with DJI Go.
That makes DJI drones more useful to more users.
The most common is Litchi which is best known for it's waypoint flying features.
There are many mapping apps that turn your drone into a precision surveying and mapping tool.

could some of the pros here list all of the apps,,,,, like the running list of what tablets / phones are know to work?( ha ha i just re read that!) competition is the corner stone of free market capitalism. the more the better! there may be a option that i am not aware of. choices are good.

DJI supply the sdk to other developers which is the correct approach and specialised apps are developed. Their DJI go app is also great. WHY do you say they couldn't care about the actual operation. Without their and 3rd party software the drones would be useless. They're still the leaders. Just my opinion - having had the experience with their products and others. Imagine if there were no vendors writing software for Windows

I'm beginning to get a better appreciation of how all of this works. The whole concept of other software developers for Windows make sense.
