How much storage does one need?

Very mixed reviews on Amazon US. With about 25% rating it a ONE! But others really like it.

I have tended to use larger thumb drives or micro sd card and my tablet for multiple backups of photos and shorter videos. The drone has not gone on any extended trips. But I've now got the Osmo Action Camera and three longer trips coming up in the next 6 months and will possibly have gigabytes of videos.
I haven’t had problems- only complaint would be transfer over WIFI is slow..... Seems even slower now as I recently started connecting SSD drives to the IPAD. The Samsung SSD’s are ridiculously fast.

I've decided to go with extra micro-sd cards. More versatile and certainly much smaller and lighter for possible international travel.

Storage is dirt cheap, but I wouldn't suggest putting too many eggs in one basket, especially if you are flying on vacation or any other potentially one in a lifetime scenario.

The M2P shoots at 100Mbps in most modes, which is 12.5MB/s.

At 4K/30p (100Mbps / 12.5MB/s):

15 minutes is 11.3GB

30 minutes is 22.5GB

45 minutes is 33.8GB

60 minutes is 45.0GB

90 Minutes is 67.5GB

You can go through 3 batteries of a fly-more-combo and you will roughly fill a 64GB micro SD (as you won't be flying the full ~30 minutes on each battery). Personally I don't like using cards much bigger than that in case one fails, but it depends what you're doing and how important the footage/photos are. I have personally never had a memory card of any kind fail on me in over 2 decades of photography and, more recently, drone use (knock on wood) but I expect it to happen eventually. Following best practices also makes a difference, such as always formatting the card in the drone, always buying from quality brands, never filling the card up 100%, and replacing old cards even if they haven't failed yet. Memory cards are so darn cheap these days that it's easy to be extra cautious IMHO.
