How do I compress a 48 mp pic to post? Nor the format I use very often and I'm having a problem

How do I compress a 48 mp pic to post? Nor the format I use very often and I'm having a problem

Your 48 MP image measures 8064 x 6048.
If you save that as a jpg file, it will be approx 7-12 MB.
Does it need to be 8064 x 6048?
If you reduce the image size to 6000 x 4500 the file size will shrink to approx 5MB.
Reduce the image size more and the file will be even smaller.
