Please ignore this posting. I'm new here and just did a search on this forum for disable charging and see that rooting the Huawei will be the way to go. Kinda sucks this simple action requires way too much effort. 
After searching for a good smartphone for my new platinum I found a posting here that recommended the Huawei Ascend XT2 (H1711) cellphone . I purchased one on ebay went to walmart and purchased a sim ship for $7.99. I'll only use the smartphone on wifi for the drone no phone service needed. My problem is the phone auto charges whenever connected to the Platinum controller. This is causing the battery in the controller to discharge from 100% down to 84% after only 5 minutes on time. I've tried everything To disable the charging to no avail. I am thinking of rooting the Ascend then using one of the aps to disable charging. (The ones I've installed require rooting) Any suggestions will be appreciated.
