I am a new dji pilot that will soon get my hands on a M2P. This is my first ever drone of this type. What do i expect? Is it fast? How good is the video?

Expect to be impressed. DJI is the maker of the best consumer drones on the planet.

Welcome to the Forum from the Nature Coast of Florida!

Welcome. You will be impressed.

Watch all the you tube vids on the M2 you can. (This does include reading the manual a couple of times.) Don't expect to remeber it all, just be exposed to it, and if it does come up with an issue, you will more than likely know where to look for the answer. Failing that, you come here.....

Now, as to the comment "Is it fast?", well, kinda, fast enough. Remember, it is a camera ship, not an FPV racer. If you treat it like a camera ship, you will have many hours of enjoyment, and nice vids/images. If you treat it like an FPV racer, you'll be back here alot.....

Enjoy, welcome, and take your time......

welcome. you picked a great platform. they are wicked good.

i recommend you take it very very easy/slow to start. suggest finding a nice large sized field where you can test out all the features and get comfortable with it. too many first time fliers immediately go to try to capture an epic video/shot/flight on their first few times out only to get into trouble and have a crash. These drones are extremely easy to fly out of the box but you should test/try everything and get used to how the drone reacts before trying anything exciting/fancy.

be sure to read and set the RTH settings for whatever location you are flying...

enjoy!
