Purchased in March. Worked ok for a few flights then did latest firmware updates, now constantly get poor signal, video feed stutters then freezes and goes b&w then if we don’t turn around it soon disconnects triggering the RTH. All this from only about 600/700m on every flight. Testing over a wooded area at ~80m alt, terrain the Mavic Air was fine handling. Can no longer fly drone any distance with any confidence ☹️
  • Tried reinstalling firmware on both drone & RC a few times.
  • Tried different phones with RC running a reinstalled DJI Go 4 app (Samsung S8 & iPhone8)
  • tried using a different USB cable plugged into underneath slot after disconnecting side cabe.
  • Tried removing SD card.
  • Also occasionally freezes doing version check at “Collecting Device Info” but sometimes sails through this check.
Thought about rolling back a firmware or a factory reset, but in the assistant 2 for mavic desktop app only shows current firmware for mavic (has older versions for RC) and no factory reset option.?!

some vids..

Please help pretty much grounded!
Thanks
Alex

Believe it or not, distance is very subjective to environment conditions.
80m is about 120ft, which is low enough to significantly reduce distance in many conditions. I don't get much more than about your range around my house with my M2 or my P3A.

In woods, trees will significantly attenuate your signal. Raising altitude makes a big difference.

I am experiencing similar problem - “weak image transmission etc” begins only 10 meters after vertical takeoff. RC disconnection and multiple connection attempts. Suspect recent firmware upgrade because ALL other variables are unchanged - worked fine before. Now grounded until sorted. Only current firmware is listed when trying to roll back - no earlier firmware versions shown - very helpful!!

Hey guys I’m getting same thing had old mavic pro along with stock controller it came with bought it right after it came out and worked great for years. Along with a controller modified with cheaply non boosted fplr antennas and these worked a good bit better then stock along with googles re all of witch always worked well eventually the drone was damaged and I bought a used drone only on here and it works good it seems with the stock controller. Prob not as good as the previous one but might just be in my head but the modified one is significantly worse as it’s acting just like you guys described along with the goggles when working with it, now also originally everything was on very very early firmware’s which worked great now new drone is on super patched newer firmware which I feel might be the cause not the patching but the newer firmware maybe the new and the old clashing somehow?
