Great toy. Unfortunately its not 8k, which means by the time you extract a useful video from the shot content it will have less resolution than an iPhone 6.

When you're editing the 360 footage into playable footage and depending on the zoom required for the framing you'll be reducing your footage from 5.4k to somewhere less than 1080.
Id read some sensible reviews before purchasing and make certain you know what editing 360 footage entails.
Ever worked with 360 footage before?

Ill be waiting for the 3rd or 4th generation.
It doesn't need to be used in a gimmicky way. You can use it to reframe and shift perspective from a single file/single take, which is pretty incredible.
But as stated, the resolution when used for this purpose will be unusable.
It's a 360 camera so you would never watch the whole video at once, you would watch part of it, or part of the photo. I have several 360 cameras, a Fusion, Max, and Insta360 One X. All of them are 5.4k and all are too low res. The image is blurry between the lenses too. I hope in the future someone will make an affordable 360 camera with 3 or 4 lenses.
BTW the Air 2S has 5.4k video with an 88 degree field of view. 360 is 4 times that so it's 1/4 the resolution if you extract that same field of view, more like 800p

Me too. I have been using 360 above (hanging from a DJI), on land and underwater for a long time now. The editor keeps getting better and the shots you can get are pretty eye opening. This thing will be fun and productive. The trick is to fly straight and at a consistent speed then you just to everything in the editor.

I’m having fun with my Insta360 sphere ~ the video quality is excellent and the camera records audio too!

Yea, I tried mine with the leg extenders which totally eliminates ay landing and take-off problems, but bits of them do show in the video. So this was a test run without leg extenders. It is pretty slick. I also used it 3 more times since this with great success. Battery time is fine on the Sphere for three flights around 15-17 minutes. Took it into the desktop app and editing was fine with harding any notice of seam (can see it if you look hard when the editing turn back to the pier the last time here). Yes, I noticed it has audio, which surprised me. I am not sure what it is good for... maybe audio notes before or after the flight? In all, very happy.
