Ipad cellular or not?

Hi All, new to all of this and looking for controller for soon to be delivered Mavic Pro Platinum. The Ipad mini2 gets a lot of plus points as a suitable controller. If I get one without cellular ability what functionality will I loose without the GPS.?

I willl still have internet access via wifi to mobile hotspot.

You wont have Active Track or Follow Me which both require GPS.
