Been using a Galaxy Tab S2 but have had the App quit several times so my Son has given me his old iPad Mini3.
Did a test flight yesterday and all seemed well. Anybody out there use the Mini 3 iPad?
I believe, relative to these older devices, for the most part if it works, it works. It seems to me that the controller is that part that matters in terms of responsiveness to commands and the monitor device provides does the settings and provides visual and telemetry data, which might be slower to respond with older devices with less powerful processors. While I only tested it once or twice, I've flown with an iPhone 5, and regularly flown with an iPhone 6s plus, released about the same time as the iPad Mini 3.
If it works, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. FWIW I like the Apple devices that have the manual button even if it has more frame and less screen. So much easier to navigate, especially if mounted in some sort of holder.
