I used my wife's iphone 7 plus with no issues a few times. Maybe check for lint in the lightening port or a bad cable.

I agree with the last poster- try another device with the same cable. My 6S plus works great. Turn off cellular, use airplane mode and update to latest IOS.

Take the DJI cord out of the side of the remote. Use the Iphone cord that came with the phone in the bottom USB port of the remote control.

The side cord is real finicky about fitting into the phone while in the RC clamp. If you dont set the plug in tab correctly it doesn't go far enough into the phone to work reliably. Keep in mind, the bottom port will NOT work if there is even just a cord plugged into the side port.
